The Tomb in Turkey by Simon Brett

In my opinion there were to many cliches and not enough of a mystery. The story was weak and the characters were boring. This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

I am a lover of all British mysteries especially one's with Hardcastle. Although he can be overbearing, sarcastic and unreasonable at times he can has a soft disposition at times. His partner Detective Sergeant Charles Marriott and a young and eager Detective Constable Yardley from Hampshire police. Ihe story is set in the time period of World War 1,1917 Hampshire County is the village the murder took place in. If you like Hardcastle you will like this book also. Backstabbing in Beaujolais by Jean-Pierre Alaux & Noel Balen

I can't seem to put down books with Benjamin and Virgile. This time they stay with Benjamin's friends a Catalan artist and his mystery writer wife. The description of the wine making region of Beaujolais is fascinating as always the investigation and finale is exciting. Wonderful story line and fine characters. The County Guides Death in Devon by Ian Sansom

Marley is overbearing and really overshadows what happens in the storyline and the characters to me are boring. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a look into a super max prison. The daily jobs of staff and prisoners was described. It was extremely graphic,violent and racist. Don't think I would read another book like it. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another great Benjamin Cooker and Virgile mystery. He investigates the attempted murder of a Paris wine merchant, of course,he continues his wine tastings. Well written and great characters. Bring on the next one. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Case of the Hidden Flame by Alison Golden

The main character is D.I.Graham who has a love for good tea and murder. Within a few hours of arriving in Gorey he is investigating the murder of Colonel Grave's finance. A good story line and characters if you want a fast read this is it. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Hill House by Blair Howard

I have not read any of the other books in this series. The characters were easy to follow and it was a well written storyline. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a fine mystery. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Shroud of Roses by Gloria Ferris

The characters were humorous. The police chief Neil Redfern and his girlfriend Bliss who does not take crap from anyone . She wanted to help solve the various murders that occur all based around a disappearance from the high school prom. A very well written story and likeable characters. The Strasbourg Legacy by Warren Craig
